As the year wanes I find myself cleaning out and taking things to the swap shop. If you find yourself doing the same and come across art supplies that you no longer need, please conside donating them to Explore Art! at the Cape Cod Art Association. I can always use extra watercolor or art paper for journal pages. I will be teaching in some public school classroom in 2011 and donations help keep the cost down. I will use what you don't need.

January classes at the Cape Cod Art Association will need to be shortened to 4 weeks instead of 6 weeks. I need to have some foot surgery in early February. This might be a good time to get started with a project then collect papers, drawings, notes, photos and more so you are ready to do some personal art journals. I'd like to focus on Visual Memoirs in the adult classes. There will be prompts and art techniques to get you started on creating a two page spread for the significant events in your life or another person's life. We will work on the pages individually so you can make journal pages in any order and bind the book when you are ready.
The first day of winter is the perfect time to stay inside and make and do! Try altering some paper and use it to make holiday cards, tags and gift bags. The shovelling is done, it's time for projects.
