The Journal Project
The Good Cause Journal program begins again today. The kids in the after-school art class at the Cape Cod Art Association will make some blank journals to raise money for the Cape Cod Times Needy Fund. I loved doing this project with my last group of second graders. I'm excited to revive this program in philanthropy for children. I want kids to experience and understand the reasons people give their time and money to help others in need.
I've been thinking about new types of classes for the new year. The idea of a Visual Memoir keeps coming up. We could create pages to represent the most influential or significant experiences of our lives and what we learned from them. I know I am not going to pen my life story but to write a few paragraphs supported by photos, drawings or other ephemera seems doable. What are your thoughts?
Welcome to my website. I really pondered the name, I couldn't decide between Explore Art, my long time name or The Journal Project, the new initiative. Unfortunately both name were already taken, but fortunately the name together was available. Look for "how to" videos in the future.
